Equipment & Other Requirements

Candidates are required to bring the following equipment on the day of the training

• Company CITB Levy number – Candidates attending Construction related courses should bring their company CITB Levy number with them if applicable.
• A Form of photo ID (Passport, Driving license, Formal ID Cards)

This course is designed for site managers who have already attained the SMSTS Course certification. It is a refresher course, providing guidance regarding the legal, moral and social responsibilities in respect of health and safety on construction sites

The SMSTS Refresher Course is only for delegates who have previously passed the five-day construction Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or subsequent refresher course, and hold a valid SMSTS certificate. Evidence must be provided of their eligibility in order to book onto this course. Delegates must be competent in English at site manager level.

This is a two-day course. Delegates are required to complete the full course (15 hours) to be eligible for certification. Assessment will be by an exam paper and the completion of a case study exercise. The examination demonstrates to external bodies that the certificate is only awarded to successful delegates following both an assessment and examination. Delegates are expected to be interactive during the course and there is also a mandatory toolbox talk to be completed. At the end of the theory session on day five, delegates will take a short 20 question multiple choice and 5 short written question test. There are 5 safety critical questions that must be answered correctly. For the last 10 minutes of the examination, delegates may use their books for reference. Upon successful completion of this course each delegate will receive a CITB Construction Skills Certificate of Training, valid for a period of 5 years.
