Lean principles have evolved over centuries—from Benjamin Franklin’s early efficiency ideas to Toyota’s modern production system. This lean process improvement training course introduces participants to the foundations of Lean thinking and equips them with practical tools to drive continuous improvement in their organisation. In particular, learners will explore the five critical improvement concepts: value, waste, variation, complexity, and continuous improvement.
The course spans two days. Day one focuses on Lean history, the Toyota Production System (TPS), and the TPS house. Day two introduces actionable tools including 5S, 5W‑2H, PDSA, DMAIC, Kaizen, Genchi Genbutsu, and Lean data mapping techniques. Moreover, participants will learn how to apply these tools to reduce waste, improve value, and embed Lean thinking into their workplace culture. By the end, learners will be ready to lead Lean initiatives and foster a culture of improvement.
Lean thinking helps organisations eliminate inefficiencies, improve quality, and increase customer satisfaction. However, without the right tools and mindset, improvement efforts can stall. As a result, this course empowers participants to apply proven Lean frameworks and drive measurable change.
