Course Aim
WHAT IS A SPOTTER?
A Spotter is someone trained to assist a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Operator by providing guidance and warnings about potential hazards during manoeuvring and operation.
WHEN MAY A SPOTTER BE NEEDED?
Spotters are crucial for safe operation in situations where the Operator’s visibility is limited or when hazards are present, including:
- Moving traffic
- Certain ground and floor conditions
- Other people in the vicinity
- Power lines (overhead and underground)
- Areas with entrapment or crushing risks
Course Overview
The course is concise, taken online as E-learning, and is theory only.
This is for convenience and enables candidates to learn in their own time, at their own pace, on their own devices. Interactive graphics and videos clearly guide candidates through their learning journey and show various worksite environments and real life scenarios.
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
It takes approximately two and a half hours to complete the course.
