Equipment & Other Requirements

Candidates are required to bring the following equipment on the day of the training:-

• A Form of photo ID (Passport, Driving license, Formal ID Cards)
• If you are attending a First Aid Course we ask that due to the practical content of the course we advise to wear comfortable clothing. There will be some floor work for the Practical when carrying out for CPR.

If attending a refresher course candidate must provide their current certificate on the day of the training

If preferred you can also email us a copy of your certificate prior to attending the course.

On successful completion of the course candidates will be equiped with a comprehensive range of skills to enable them to respond calmly and confidently in the event of a child becoming unwell or injuring themselves.

This Paediatric First Aid Course is for people working with younger children (those up to eight years old) or working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education Medical Declaration For the safety of yourself and others, it is recommended, if you are currently suffering or have ever suffered with any of the following medical problems or conditions to check with your GP before attending the course: – back, neck, arm or knee problems rupture or hernia heart disease, high blood pressure, bronchitis, asthma or chest problems blackouts, seizures or epilepsy For the safety of yourself and others, it is recommended, if you are currently or have recently been pregnant to check with your GP before attending this course. It is the responsibility of the employer to choose a person who can physically fulfil the role of a first aider in the workplace. Please note that we reserve the right to prevent the delegate from completing the course if they should have any of the above problems or if they are pregnant and the trainer feels that the delegate could put themself of others in danger. For convenience it is recommended that students wear casual clothing as courses often involve practical work.

This Paediatric First Aid course meets the requirements of the Early Years foundation stage statutory framework. The this first aid training course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by professionals, including teachers, au pairs and playgroup leaders, looking after young children. It meets Ofsted requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for nannies under the Approved Carers Scheme. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
