Course Content
Delegates on this course will be required to actively participate in group discussion and syndicate exercises analysing and assessing various workplace scenarios. Topics covered include:

– Definition of confined spaces
– Safe system /permit to work
– Gas monitor equipment, confined spaces & practical handling
– PPE Equipment
– Breathing apparatus
– Manning levels
– Risk assessments
Equipment & Other Requirements
Equipment & Other Requirements
Candidates are required to bring the following equipment on the day of the training:-
- PPE – Hard Hat, Safety boots, High Visible Jacket/Vest.
- Company CITB Levy number – Candidates attending Construction related courses should bring their company CITB Levy number with them if applicable.
- A Form of photo ID ( Passport, Driving license, Formal ID Cards)
Delegates will be expected to descend/ascend and traverse a designated confined space within a training simulator, wearing an approved safety harness and breathing apparatus with face mask/hood and PPE. The delegate will be expected to crawl through a series of tunnels under various simulated emergency conditions that include; noise, limited light, and variable safe atmospheric conditions.
If attending a refresher course candidate must provide their current certificate on the day of the training.

This course gives delegates the skills to understand the dangers of working in a low risk confined space environment and to be able to operate a safe systems of work under the Confined Space Regulations 1997.

This predominantly theoretical training course will allow individuals to be component to test a confined space atmosphere, select appropriate work equipment and ensure emergency plans are in place prior to work commencing.
