Equipment & Other Requirements
Equipment & Other Requirements
Candidates are required to bring the following equipment on the day of the training:-
- PPE – Hard Hat, Safety boots, High Visible Jacket/Vest.
- Company CITB Levy number – Candidates attending Construction related courses should bring their company CITB Levy number with them if applicable.
- A Form of photo ID ( Passport, Driving license, Formal ID Cards)
Delegates will be expected to descend/ascend and traverse a designated confined space within a training simulator, wearing an approved safety harness and breathing apparatus with face mask/hood and PPE. The delegate will be expected to crawl through a series of tunnels under various simulated emergency conditions that include; noise, limited light, and variable safe atmospheric conditions.
If attending a refresher course candidate must provide their current certificate on the day of the training.
If preferred you can also email us a copy of your certificate prior to attending the course.
Learning Objectives
This course gives delegates the skills to understand the dangers of working in a low risk confined space environment and to be able to operate a safe systems of work under the Confined Space Regulations 1997. This predominantly theoretical training course will allow individuals to be component to test a confined space atmosphere, select appropriate work equipment and ensure emergency plans are in place prior to work commencing.
Course Aim
Course Benefits:
• Conformance to the Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999)
• Reduced risk of accidents and incidents
• Reduction in company costs due to reduction in incident related costs
Course Overview
A confined space is an area which is substantially enclosed (though not always entirely) and is one where serious injury can occur from hazardous substances or conditions within the confined space or near to the space (e.g. lack of oxygen). A number of people are killed or seriously injured in the UK each year in confined spaces. These incidents occur across a wide range of industries, from those involving complicated machinery through to simple storage solutions.
