Category: PASMA
Price: £140
Duration: 1 Day(s)
Course Overview: Our PASMA Combined Tower and Low Level Access Course delivers a minimum of 7 hours of instruction and is designed to instruct up to a maximum of 8 delegates. This course is aimed at giving FULL competence in assembling, altering, inspecting, moving and dismantling mobile towers, folding low level room scaffolds and podium work platforms manufactured in aluminium alloy or fibreglass, approved to BS EN 1004: 2004 or Low Level Access Units, to PAS250, and which carry a current British Standard or other equivalent mark of approval.
Learning Objectives: This course is suitable for anyone in an organisation who assembles, alters, dismantles, moves, inspects and most importantly uses alloy or fibreglass mobile access towers, low level access units or podiums in the workplace. This not only includes construction sites but all workplaces, such as schools, offices and factories both internally and externally. There are no prerequisites required for this course although a working knowledge of mobile access towers and low level access units is an advantage. Since the safe use of mobile access towers requires that delegates consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, English literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower user. Please note that delegates will be expected to work at height whilst building a mobile access tower, so please ensure delegates are in good health and do not have a fear of heights that may preclude them from taking part in the practical assessment
Course Content: The course agenda includes: Introduction to Mobile Access Towers & Low Level Access Equipment Legal Overview - Health & Safety / Work at Height Regulations 2005 British & European Standards Tower Components, Inspection & Maintenance Tower Assembly & Dismantle (3T Method & Advanced Guardrail) Tower Stability & Tying-in Hazards When Using Mobile Access Towers Your Responsibilities When Using Mobile Access Towers Low Level Access Units & Podiums Theory Test Paper Practical Training Session Practical Assessment
Course Aim: Successful delegates will gain an understanding of current relevant legislation and be able to dismantle, erect, inspect and most importantly use mobile access towers and low level access units safely, in line with current approved methods and manufacturer’s instructions. At the end of the theory session, delegates will take a short multiple choice test. If delegates successfully pass the test, they will then move onto the practical assessment, where they will have to build a mobile access tower using both the 3T (Through the Trap) and AGR (Advanced Guardrail) methods. Successful delegates will receive a certificate and Photo ID card which will be valid for a period of 5 years from the date of the course.
